LAXIUM

FOR THE TREATMENT OF PERIODIC OR FREQUENT CONSTIPATION
CONTAINS 3g of Plantago Psyllium
MEDICAL PRODUCT

12 SINGLE USE SACHETS

The powder contains the Plantago Psyllium plant.
Psyllium binds water to itself, which results in the increase in the volume of stool and stimulates intestinal peristalsis; the stool is softened which in turn facilitates bowel movements. Laxium also contains PEG (polyethylene glycol), an isosmotic substance which enhances the effectiveness of Psyllium. Psyllium stimulates intestinal motility and reduces the time of passage of contents through the intestines. Psyllium is used for the treatment of periodic or frequent constipation and in other circumstances to achieve easier bowel movements (for instance in cases of painful defecation following surgery of the rectum, anus, anal fissures, or haemorrhoids).

DOSAGE, METHOD, AND TIME OF ADMINISTRATION:
Unless your physician prescribes otherwise, take the doses as prescribed in these instructions. If you do not follow the prescribed instructions the product may not be effective.

-Adults: 1 sachet 2 times a day in an interval of 12 hours, or 3 times a day every 8 hours.
-Children from 6 to 12 years of age: 1 sachet per day under a physician’s supervision or the dose as prescribed by your doctor.
Laxium is not to be taken by children under the age of 6.

Dissolve the contents of one sachet in a glass of water (2 dl), stir, and drink the entire quantity of the prepared solution. While taking Laxium be sure to drink an appropriate amount of water (6-8 glasses) in order to avoid intestinal obstruction.

The duration of treatment is individual because it depends on the gravity of the initial condition and the response to treatment.
If symptoms continue see your physician.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
